Owens commits to the Rosellas
Cheltenham Football Netball Club is pleased to announce the signing of Sandringham VFL young gun Kai Owens as a ‘home club’ player for season 2019.
Kai is a 193cm, athletic utility who impressed in his six VFL matches late last year for the Zebras having stepped up from the TAC Cup with the Dragons where had played 22 matches across 2017-18 – including booting three near-matching winning last quarter goals in the 2017 Grand Final against Geelong Falcons.
The 19-year-old has been on the draft radar for AFL clubs for a few years having attended the 2017 Victorian State Draft Combine where he came second in the running vertical jump (93cm).
We welcome Kai and his family to Jack Barker Oval and hope that in the time he spends with us, that he can continue to develop his game and bring some extra quality to the Rosellas.
